Woohoo 26 weeks!

Well, we have made it to the 26 week mark. It wasn't that much of a difference from my perspective from week 25. Now, let's see what our princess is up to...

Your baby is nearly as long as a zucchini, and his eyebrows and eyelashes are thick and lush.

Baby's Length: 14.02 in.

Baby's Weight: 1.68 lb.

The network of nerves in our baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both my voice and Jeremy's as we chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 9 lbs...according to my last dr. appointment... next appointment is this Tuesday!
Maternity clothes? yep!
Stretch marks? not that I've seen
Sleep: On and off. Still dealing with the numbness in my hands when I sleep... I haven't been sleeping with the braces this week... and half the days, my hands haven't been numb... so, who knows what's going on.
Best moment this week: Sleeping in this morning!! (The simple things.)
Movement: Most nights when I'm laying in bed... trying to fall sleep or simply when I sit still. Starting to feel her more throughout the day still mostly when I'm sitting.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, just food when we're hungry.
Gender: Girl!!! (Or so they say...)
Name:We're working on it... I think we' have our back-up boy name if she turns out to be a he... but we're struggling more with girly names. I think we have a middle name... but, the first name, a little more tricky. :-) Either way, we will probably not be announcing it until she is really here.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In, but definitely flattening out.
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach<----- still what I miss the most!
What I am looking forward to: Jeremy being able to finally feel her move.
Weekly Wisdom: As I was waiting for my blood to be drawn for the glucose tolerance test, (man that stuff was gross!) a resident from Breckenridge came in to the lab. She sat down right next to me... her words of wisdom? Don't get gout. So... I guess that's it for the week. haha...

Well, that's about it for this week! We have our next appointment this Tuesday. I'm hoping to hear the results of the GTT that we did this morning then. I was a little nervous since diabetes runs so prevalent in my family... but, it is all in God's hands.

All right, well thanks for checking in on us! Maybe next week there will even be a picture update! haha... we'll see!

25 weeks!

Our baby is the size of a rutabaga, and her fingerprints have now formed.

Baby's Length: 13.62 in.

Baby's Weight: 1.46 lb.

Head to heels, our baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Sleep: On and off. Still dealing with the numbness in my hands when I sleep... it is alleviated somewhat with the braces. However, a few times this week, I've noticed that I've taken the one brace off in my sleep. It's not soo effective when you take it off.
Best moment this week: Having 2 days off. :-D
Movement: Most nights when I'm laying in bed... trying to fall sleep or simply when I sit still. Starting to feel her more throughout the day still mostly when I'm sitting.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, just food when we're hungry. I've enjoyed pancakes a couple times this week in the morning.
Gender: Girl!!! (Or so they say...)

Weekly Wisdom: Do the exercises from our class!! haha... they're supposed to help. (Although, right now, they do feel really, really good!! So I do them.)
This picture was taken today so it is exactly 25 weeks.

24 weeks... and counting!

Our baby is as long as an ear of corn, and he now notices bright lights and may move in response.

Baby's Length: 11.81 in.

Baby's Weight: 1.32 lb.Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Well... that's what they say about little Miss Jellee online. What I can tell you from this side of the computer is that we are doing well. I'm feeling great, and surprisingly have a little bit more motiviation/energy to do things. (FINALLY) Some days I can even go without a nap. So that's good... sort of... since most of you know how much I love any reason to take a nap. When I need one, I take it (if I can), but now if don't need it as much, I may just lay down a little bit and relax.

Each day, I can feel her kicking more and more. We're still waiting for Jer to be able to feel them. She is just not a fan of anyone putting stuff on my belly (i.e. a hand or the baby doppler), she just seems to run away from those stimulants. She mostly kicks when I'm sitting still, lying down, and especially when I'm about to go to sleep. She hasn't seemed to keep me up so much with the kicking... so that's good as well.

Sleep: Better...sometimes it just takes a while to get to sleep, I'm starting to wear wrist braces on both hands because of issues with carpal tunnel. I'm not seeing so much of a difference yet with them... although the first night was great! I didn't have any numbness at all. However, quite a few nights this week, I've had numbness in only my thumb, and then a few nights, it's been mostly numb.
Best moment this week: Starting our first childbirth class. We're taking the Bradley class.
Movement: Most nights when I'm laying in bed... trying to fall sleep or simply when I sit still. (Also, see the above note.)
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, just food when we're hungry.
Gender: Girl!!! (Or so they say...)
Name:We're going to talk about it tonight, just throwing around idea .... but we probably won't be announcing until she is born.

Newest Ticker

I know it's slightly redundant, but... I was bored, and I liked the new ticker idea. What do you think about the new ticker? Do you like it? Do you think I should keep both? Get rid of one?

The difference is that 1 ticker tracks my pregnancy and tells you how many weeks along I am. The other ticker is counting down til Baby Jellee's due date. (It's kind of exciting, I think!)

Anyway, feel free to leave some feedback. :-D

Week 23!

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Our baby is doing great! I'm pretty confident that she is a gymnast in the making...especially when I'm trying to sleep. But we love her so much!

Now for my weekly documentation

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 9 lbs...according to my last dr. appointment...
Maternity clothes? yep!
Stretch marks? not that I've seen
Sleep: Better...sometimes it just takes a while to get to sleep, I'm starting to wear wrist braces on both hands because of issues with carpal tunnel. Apparently your hands aren't supposed to go numb every time you lay down. (It really makes turning the alarm off more difficult!)
Best moment this week: Feeling a gentle kick from the outside.
Movement: Most nights when I'm laying in bed... trying to fall sleep or simply when I sit still. (Also, see the above note.)
Food cravings: Food in general, but this week I really wanted a yummy bronie.
Gender: Girl!!! (Or so they say...)
Name: we really should talk about it... we did talk about a middle name... now we just need to discuss a first name.... but we probably won't be announcing either until she is born.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In, but definitely flattening out.
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach
What I am looking forward to: baby showers (first one is in less than a month)
Weekly Wisdom: I don't know? Who wants to share some advice?

And now a picture (for you non-facebook friends). It's a little late... but this was taken at 22 weeks 1 day. Soo... sorry, but ya gotta take what you can get. (Not to mention, not such a fan of this picture. It's zoomed in way more than I'd like. but hey... there's always another just around the corner.)

Thanks for checking in.

Good check-up

Well, yesterday, Miss Jellee and I had a doctor's appointment.

It started out a little rough, since I had laid down about 2:30 for a little rest time. I wasn't expecting to fall asleep. Especially since my appointment was at 3:30, and I wanted to leave at 3. Needless to say, I woke up at 3:24... it takes 15-20 minutes to get there. So I rushed out the door in a panic. I called the doctor's office to see if coming ten minutes late would be a problem or if I should reschedule. They assured me it wasn't a big deal, and I continued on my way.

I got there about 3:40. So yeah, I was 10 minutes late.

They got me in there, and got me back in a room within 10 minutes.......

And then, I began to wait... I read a magazine that I had brought back with me...
and wait... I read the articles that weren't soooo appealing the first time
and wait....I was offered some water (I chose to use the restroom again instead)
and wait... I went back and even looked at all the advertisements that I had skipped
2 hours later, I finally was seen.

Miss Jellee was measuring in at the correct size (this was actually my first time "being measured"), and her heartbeat was good at an average of 142 beats per minute.

As I was sitting there waiting to be seen, I kept asking myself why I didn't mind waiting sooo long (until my stomach started to growl), and then I realized.... I didn't mind waiting so much since I got to hear my little princess's heartbeat. It's like my small glimpse of her, if only brief.
To top my evening off, I was laying in bed reading last night with my hand on my abdomen, like I usually do, and I felt a little kick!! It was pretty light, but it was definitely a kick!! Then I had Jer put his hand on my abdomen, to have him try to feel it... but it was pretty faint, so he didn't think he could feel anything.

But hey, we're on our way! Yesterday was 22 weeks and 3 days!

Thanks for checking in.

22 weeks!

Our baby girl is the size of a papaya, and her taste buds are becoming sensitive enough to react to what I eat this week.

Baby's Length: 10.94 in.

Baby's Weight: 15.17 oz. (Woohoo! Almost a pound!!)

Our baby girl's previously see-through skin will now become opaque. However, it will remain wrinkly, red, and covered in vernix until more fat helps to fill her out. Also this week, she's fine-tuning his sense of touch (thanks to maturing brain cells and nerve endings). Our baby may experiment with these newfound skills by feeling her face or anything else she can get her hands on. This week, our baby's eyebrows start growing and hair will start sprouting on the scalp, but this varies -- our baby may grow a thick head of dark hair or she may enter the world bald (which wouldn't be all that bad... I think bald babies are soooo cute!! We'll take her either way!).

How far along? 22 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 6 lbs...according to my last dr. appointment...but I have a feeling I've gained quite a few this month
Maternity clothes? slowly but surely... pants mostly, some shirts (but I can still wear my larger t-shirts if I want), I had to go up a size to my new altered work shirts...
Stretch marks? Nothing new to note.
Sleep: Better...sometimes it just takes a while to get to sleep
Best moment this week: Having Monday off to spend with my family!
Movement: Most nights when I'm laying in bed... trying to fall sleep or simply when I sit still.
Food cravings: Food in general
Gender: Girl!!! (Or so they say...)
Name: we really should talk about it... we did talk about a middle name... now we just need to discuss a first name.... but we probably won't be announcing either until she is born.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In.
What I miss: sleeping through the night... but I guess it all comes with the territory
What I am looking forward to: Reading the book "Baby Wise"
Weekly Wisdom: I don't know? Read a good book on babies, not just on pregnancy. (That's what my midwife told me to do, since there may not be time for that after she's here.)

I will try to post a picture of me when Jer gets home to take a picture.
